As an artist and printmaker, I have an enduring fascination of the North East of England and its culture, and try to capture this through printmaking: relief prints in lino, engravings in perspex and plastic, and monoprints. My work is very much based in local culture, heritage, environment and in the local community, and my creative practice includes applying art within a wider social engagement.
My workspace - Studio 12 - is based at the Biscuit Tin Studios in the heart of the cultural quarter of Newcastle upon Tyne, in the Ouseburn Valley. The Biscuit Tin Studios complex is a former factory that very much retains a utilitarian vibe, and provides studio space and gallery to a diverse group of artists, musicians, and makers, working across a huge array of art forms.
